Hi there,

I've had a frequently very noisy SBC since I purchased the car last October.

Now I have a brake service workshop message (in white) on my dash and the following codes have been read from a snap on system:-

P2000 Brake Pressure Implausible

P2010 CAN Communication is Faulty

C249E Terminal 87 under voltage

C225F Event: ABS control

C25D8 Inspect wheel brakes for mechanical faults

930C Knowledge Base Configuration Incomplete

9382 CAN Communication ...................etc
9384 CAN Communication ......................etc

If anyone could read this and advise me on what I should do next I would be very grateful.

Just to note, the battery isn't great as sometimes when very cold in the morning, the car only just started and it switched off the comfort controls temporarily? Not sure if that attributes to the low voltage errors?

Kind regards

The low state of the battery could well be giving rise to those fault codes.
I'd give the battery a good charge, clear the codes , then restart the car and see which codes reappear, if any.
The SBC does tend to be quite noisy and may mean nothing at all.

I think I'm probably be better off replacing the battery so I'll order one on Monday however, can you tell me if the snap on code reader (£3500 worth so I'm told) be able to reset all the codes?

If so, why do I read that STAR is absolutely necessary for diagnosing etc??

The Snap on should do all this OK. It could be under voltage kicking it all off

I've just found out there is a back up battery, where is it located on the E Class estate? I guess this could be a problem which could bring up low voltage codes?

Under the bonnet, these batteries can pull the system down.

Smart + others :)
A read on a star machine would be cheaper that guessing its a battery, some codes on non mb diagnostics give misleading codes.
