Hi all
Slight problem with my CLK
The passenger side windscreen wiper isn't working. Driver side OK
The arm feels like it's not connected to anything. It is loose and floppy.
Either it has disconnected itself or something has snapped.
Any ideas if it's an easy fix for a complete novice or is it a trip to my Indy.
Thanks all

Both wiper arms off (one nut each); windscreen plastic scuttle off.

Underneath is a motor (driver's side) with an arrangement of linked steel tube arms that translate the movement to the wiper spindle at the passenger side. There's not much to break really, it's all pretty damn solid!

Do check that the wiper arm is not loose on its spline, was the blade frozen to the glass when started.

Hi Television
Yes it was frozen last night.
Is it easy to put back?

Unscrew the nut holding the arm on, remove the arm, cycle the wiper blades once, turn engine off then refit the wiper blade in the horizontal position. Dead easy.

All you need to do is to prise off the plastic cap and then with the arm in the correct place tighten up the nut under the cap.
