Got a minor issue on my e class, when I turn left at slow speeds at a certain steering angle I get a grinding sound from the front left wheel (pretty sure it’s front left) the steering feels perfectly normal too me and it’s just been serviced and nothing was brought to my attention about anything other than my pads and discs were due soon.
I initially thought it could of been my pads worn down and grinding but when I break in a straight line it feels fine and there’s no grinding! It’s only when you turn left at slow speeds! Anybody know what this could be???

I would do a proper visual inspection of the pads.

Thanks,
I’ll jack it up this evening after work, they said the pads were 70% worn, could it possibly be the pads and discs?

The inner pad often wears faster than the outer. Its also a lot harder to see. If there is a small amount of movement on the wheel bearing (which is normal) then the disc can contact the pad in a slightly different place to when the brakes are applied and if the pads are low cause a scraping sound.
While looking check the brake dust shield isn't rusty, bent or hiding a stone which is rubbing as the wheel moves slightly.

I never really thought of that to be honest! I’m gonna have a proper look this evening!

Often a stone or twig stuck in there- as LK, good visual inspection needed
