I viewed a CLS with a recorded 70k or so but judging from the condition of the seats it had either done 270k or been used as a minicab. All 4 seats were heavily worn, even the rears had a saggy appearance.

You are right on this,,its the only way to see the difference and you learn a lot.

it was after getting a good clean one that I knew that the marks in that first one were there for life

I always found it interesting that the Mercedes dealers never ever keep the loaded cars, they are always sold off to the trade. The odd thing being as Developer said, the extra's never give any problems.

255 front and 285 rear for both 18" and 19"

Stick to the 18s for a much more dynamic drive. People get the 19s because they are more sexier to look at.

nah 20" wheels are the future...the wheels on the 430 are 18" and with such low profile tyres you really can tell if the road surface isnt up to much:lol:

the 211 has proper tyres so i have a good balance to level things up

Can you share any further information on how the 20s drive on your CL? I had them on my Audi A8 and my car felt sometimes so slow because of the weight, but the car was a beauty to look at especially when lowered.

A great spec gives a great feeling - don't be put off by the "more to go wrong" brigade, who usually don't have that spec themselves - their favourite colour is green.

It is more to go wrong but expensive extras don't fail. Stuff like engines and gearboxes do lol

Interesting that those wheels are very nearly the same as the standard 216/221 but in 18" form.

They look better on the Audi than the 216

No offense but I couldn't think of a more hideous colour for a CLS if I tried. Its putrescent.
