2006 W203 Spongy brake pedal

Hi,

I have a 2006 w203 320CDI which is coming up to 2 years old. which has about 4 inches of brake pedal travel.

I have been to various MB garages and have informed me that this is a characteristic of the W203 c-class.

To try and rule out the possibility of air in the system, I have just had the brake fluid changed at a MB garage and the pedal travel still is about 4 inches until it stops. I have driven many makes of vehicle and never experienced brake pedal travel like it.

Has anyone else had the same pedal feel, or could it be a fault with the master cylinder which is common across the W203 series?

both of my 203s have had the same feeling to pedal, come to think about it most of the 203s i have driven ( and thats a lot ) have all fel the same, have been told the only real thing that cures the travel is braided brake hoses, yet to fit them to mine but going to!!!!

I ve the same problem on mine. Will try to bleed this weekend.

Where did you source the braided hoses from?
