2008 E-Class E280CDI W211 SatNav Update

Hi

I have a 2008 W211 E280CDI and I've taken some shots of the COMAND engineering screens in the hope of finding out how old my satnav maps are and what I can do to update them.

If anyone can help a newbie I'd be very grateful.

Don't know if it is still the case, but MB dealers were updating the maps for £100 up to quite recently.
Might be worth a visit to see if this offer is still available. They will be able to tell what version you are currently using.

To be honest I was hoping to be able to locate a suitable DVD and perform the upgrade myself

What version of the Comand do you have, there is one for sale for the Comand 3

NTG2.5 if there is a SD slot above the screen.

There is an SD card slot, just above the CD slot.

I'm puzzled that the engineering screens don't report the NTG version.

Troon, you're 100% certain the SD slot means it's NTG 2.5?

your age of 211 is the perfect time for a 2.5 and it was the only one with an SD slot above, what you do find when searching images is that different model i.e r230, w164 are still comand 2.5 but look different due to how they fit in the car.

also just looked at your pic and the green and red telephone buttons are another giveaway its a 2.5 instead of a 2, the 2 only had white button.
