Hi
I'm as mentioned in the title my 59 reg c250 cdi sport is going into sport mode on it's own. It's in comfort mode for about 200 meters then changes into sport mode and I cant turn it off without restarting the car.
Questions I have are -
1. Is it supposed to do that?
2. (If not) can anybody tell me why it's doing that?
3. Is it an easy fix?.

Thank you in advance

I'm presuming you have a switch by the gear selector to switch modes. Has anything been spilled on it?

Isn’t this the problem Tony (Smart AMG) has ???.
I’m not sure what section the thread is in , think it’s called “First Glitch”

Its likely you have a fault with a level sensor/wiring up to it. ( assuming you have the sport button on your dash with the red light).

It needs to be diagonised and repaired.

Thank you very much for this link.

Mercedes has told me that there was a senser lead that was not fully plugged in on the suspension. they have said it has stopped it switching to sport mode but I am picking it up today so I can confirm this. Many thanks.
Interested in the outcome of this. :)

The outcome was, that it is still flicking to sports mode which is annoying. The one possible saving grace is that the turbo charger either needs cleaning as there is a lot of soot there. Or replacing with a recon one. That maybe playing a hand in the sports mode. It certainly causes it to knock now and again when the gear change happens in low gears. That sound plausible?
