As @DSK has reminded me (nice pic again of your silver CLS) , @Liam.Moran has a really great looking blue CLS

Thanks buddy :)

Just to chime in, I have a 2008 pre facelift CLS320 cdi 3rd owner (second owner my mate from Mercedes Benz of Stourbridge) and still full Mercedes service history. Mine I a little modified, lowered suspension (bilstein b8 kit) custom rolling road remap, slightly larger front brakes from a 500 model (had to change a calliper so I thought as well upgrade) all declared on insurance and I’m paying about £400 a year which I don’t think is too bad for a 27year old with a big expensive to repair Mercedes!

I have had a few things needed doing (and a few things that I wanted doing! )

Things that needed doing:
Turbo actuator (car went into limp mode)
Oil cooler seal
Replacement swirl flaps (thinking I should have had them removed and the manifolds welded)
Intakes manifolds were disgusting too so they were cleaned.
Any seal that was taken off was changed at the same time for peace of mind.

I changed quite a bit of the front suspension when doing the shocks as it made sense to do it all at once. Then the rest was just playing around with things like the remap, a little exhaust work, some sound deadening, refurbishing the wheels, front end repaint (I hate rock chips!) and plenty of detailing and swapping bits and pieces. Still a few more bits I’d like to do like swapping out the halogens headlights for the full xenon ones (when I can find a set that isn’t worth more than my house...) a steering wheel with paddle shift, I’m missing that from my last car) and if I can ever find a pair AMG front seats in beige, I think they’re so much more comfy and if I can justify and lastly updating the audio a little, if I fit a new headuint or upgrade my current unit with addons.

I’m getting anything between 30-45mpg with normal driving, last trip back home from Devon I hit 55mpg at a steady 70 (cruise control and very little traffic)

(Front plate in the window while paint cured... bit cheeky but I think it looks amazing, shame I’d never get away with running no plate full time!)

@Lee Endean, must be a sign. There has just been a lovely 2009 example been posted for sale literally within the last 10 mins on the other side.

It's the one put up a few posts ago. The owner is a member and fastidious in his upkeep of his cars. Every cloud and all that....

Is a CLS 350 much more expensive to insure than an E350, which I believe was the first car on the OP's wish list?
That’s what the op suggested

CLS 320 CDI remapped (W219)
Love my 08 CLS 320.
Got it remapped at GAD Tuning and it flies. (Mines on left)
Got it lowered on links https://www.airmatic-lowering-links.co.uk/
Changed the grill
Added spoiler
Made a big difference to the look IMO.
