Hello and welcome

Could be going into limp home mode, find a decent Mercedes indie with star and get the codes read

Mine did this had issues from cold its was an o2 sensor buggered, the difference between temps on start up was too great and went into limp mode. After the initial start and a off and back on the car was fine. Only way to tell is to take blobcats and Alex's advice star is the answer. It could be a whole host of things

As above - could be many thinks either in engine or gearbox.
Getting codes read on Star is the cheapest way to get to the bottom of it. A generic code reader will not give all codes.
