200E mystery prob

Hi I have a problem with a 1993 200e It starts fine runs fine but as the water temp rises to 60d it drops onto 3 cyl and stays on 3 until water tem gets to 80d it then most times clears and runs on 4 for the rest of the day if you leave it to cool down it then repeats the problem it has been into merc dealer many times but unable to sort It has had new fuel pump new filters new plugs dist cap rotar arm plug leads throttle switch temp sender I have taken it to a Bosh service dep they can find nothing amiss (HELP) i have hadit

Hi
If it is the 24V engine version it's worth have a look at the engine cable loom. THey are breaking because of the heat. Most common with the 6 Zylinder HFM versions but also sometimes with the smaller engine.

Hi Mike,
as it is the M102 there can be only 3 things wrong. The fuel distributer, a single injector or there is something wrong with the head e.g. inlet or outlet valve.
