Good evening,

I am currently have an issue with my vehicle and would appreciate your advise, suggest or assistance.

When starting the vehicle, I would hear a grinding noise and the car does not start. After numerous tries, the car would eventually start. I recent service the starter and three days after the noise happened again. Has anyone ever experience this and what was the outcome/solution

Thank you in advance.

Hi Wilbo,

What did you do to service the starter...?
Is it what is called a pre-engage starter..?

Hi Matt, from looking at the mechanic, he basically took it down, cleaned and greased it. I dnt know much about vehicles.

Thanks.
I am slightly worried that he greased it. The shaft that the little gear in the starter runs on should never be greased.
I learned the hard way and I always test a starter before fitting it to the car. Did your mechanic do that only to make sure that the starter solenoid, which is attached to the top of the starter motor, is pushing the small gear all the way forward to get engaged with the flywheel...?

Sound like your starter is not engaging and needs replacing.
