I have a 2010 SL500 Night Edition. I can connect my phone via Bluetooth but I can’t play music off of my phone. Does anyone know of a solution..?

I take it you have Comand (it's an SL after all)
Can you use it for calls?
Is the option for BT there in the audio menu? It might need a firmware update if not.
If there are still other devices paired on the Comand unit, clear them all in case there is a limit or other streaming issue.

Best people ask will be Comand On Line if the above gets you nowhere

Hi
I can connect my phone via Bluetooth but it won’t play music, give take/make phone calls. Mercedes say there’s not an upgrade. I had a stereo guy look at it with a view to installing something additional, but he said that the multi changers and interface seemed to prevent streaming

which SL is it and what comand system does it have ….

find image on google (if like a s class of this era can you input an address using the whole post code ?)

NTG 3 answer is no (up to 2009)
NTG3.5 I think post 2009 is still no, but it might have a media socket in the glove box and you can plug an aftermarket gadget in so it works

My guess is that your system does no support BT music streaming. My W211 E320 was brilliant at connecting the phoe, but didn't support music streaming. My current C207 2013 E350 Coupe does, but I think the crossover is mid 2012, so you could be pre _ upgrade, Does Blutoothaudio show in tour display (when you highlitr audio and scroll down).

I think you are right my 212 E350CDI 2011 won't on bluetooth, but I have a base connection in the glovebox which does.
My wife's old SLK200 2010 had the media jack in the glovebox, you could interface it from there.

you will get a lot of info about your car by typing your chassis number here... https://www.lastvin.com/ it will extract from a merc server the specific build info you car left the factory with. But its pretty useless at giving good info on the radio in my experience

its why I asked you get a photo .... almost impossible to decipher which unit is in the cars... (and it got much less clear on more current ones)

Well I’ve solved it of eBay.. chatted to a guy Jason who runs incarconnections.. He sent
this simple plug in accessory, saying send it back if it doesn’t work, seemed to good to be true. But I plugged in in and followed the simple instructions. Less than 2 minutes I’m streaming music..! Brilliant. Fast and great service, good communications..

plugged it in where?

the special socket in the glove box? which if you taken a picture of it we could have told you that

if its a lead in the glove box, likely its NTG3.0 and you can't navigate around or see info on comand screen (on instrument cluster)
if its a socket in the side of the glove box probably a NTG3.5 and you can use the comand knob and seen tracks/ info on the main screen... but your mapping is stuck at 2015
