The m271 supercharged four cylinder is the worst of the bunch. Cam chain and sprocket wear problems

It's got a lot of the toys - memory heated seats, airscarf, Comand (not sure if pre-facelift is NTG2 rather than 2.5 as the unit is different to the NTG2.5 in my car) but it is pre-facelift, is missing the gearchange paddles on the steering wheel, is a very dark blue (I thought it was black until I read the blurb) and AT reckons it's nearly £900 over-priced, it's about £1500 more than I paid for mine. OK, only 40k miles where mine was 60k. If you get interested, check the service history against the recommended intervals, mine had a few items (like changing the spark plugs!) missed.
As BC says, you need to check the engine number as early V6's could have problems, but after a certain engine number they're OK, info available on here if you search.

V6 are good, but you must check the engine number for the idler sprocket fault, as others have said

High mileage?
It’s done a few, but the engine is good for a lot more. With your forecast 4000 a year it’ll not increase much, and these cars are a cast iron investment. There won’t be any more v8 mercedes being made soon, and I predict these cars will steadily climb in demand and price. For the exhaust note alone it’s a bargain
