2011 S 350 CDI not starting Please Help driving me mad.....

Ok so ... 2011 S350 will not start some times..... when not starting the ignition come on but will not crank over the engine checked/ changed starter motor.. no fix
when it will not start it comes up on the instrument cluster that the traction control is not working....

its driving me mad please please can someone give me any leads as to what it is..

what kit are you trying to firnd error codes with

a phone app like torque or a 30 quid ODB2 special will never tell u anything worth reading - the tools you need start from around £180

sounds like the usual trick - authority to crank signal is not happening - high mileage and 10 tonne of crap on your key ring? maybe be try new batteries in the spare key and see if its happier... - otherwise grown up diagnostic kit / ignition switch fun...

Have a 2011 merc s350 which has a random no start problem...







It will not Crank the engine over



Then 2 mins later all is OK



When it does it the dash comes up with traction control not working and the glow plug light does not work



Any thought's



ad new battery, starter Motor, checked Fues changed engine relays can't see any wiring faults ...

Time to get it on STAR and see what is happening

If it is not all of the preceding suggestions, including ruling out any problems with the gear selector, check the starter solenoid in the fuse box and the contacts for the fuse and the relays. I have found that this can often be the culprit, but I do not know on a 350.
On a C203 and 204 CDI I have brought a power cable from the battery to the starter fuse to check. Be careful, this may allow it to start while in gear.
Just a suggestion, but a simple one to check out.
Otherwise you need, at least, an icarsoft diagnostic unit
