This has been driving me insane. It used to work absolutely fine.
I have a 2012 E250 convertible
I have had a Samsung phone and now have a Google Pixel
I can connect to use bluetooth for playing music streams and internet radio etc - no probs
I used to be able to make and receive calls through the car's bluetooth too but no more
The media playing stops when a call comes in, but the callers voice can not be heard through the stereo and they can not hear me through the car mic
I have tried with both the Samsung (I still have it) and the Google Pixel. Both have the same issue
I have also tried it with my son's iPhone 12 - the same issue
I have reset the car stereo but the same problem
When it did work, on the phone you could select the speaker and select phone/speaker or MBBluetooth - the MBBluetooth option is now missing
Anyone have any ideas as to what the issue might be? It's driving me mad.

Thanks in advance

Probably in your phone settings looks like this, turn on the phone and contacts.

Yeah I've checked and double checked that and no go. There isn't that option. The same on an iphone

I had issues with mine originally got fed up and bought an Amazon echo auto. It plugs into the glove box usb and aux and hidden away.

I don’t know whether this website is of any help. You can put in your car and phone details and it should recommend appropriate settings.

Another thought - sometimes the car can only cope with so many phones paired. Can you somehow delete all phones from the car system and start again?

Edit - also, you have to search for the phone from the car, not the other way round, and this is a separate pairing to Bluetooth Audio

Thanks for the posts. I have reset the audio system (system/settings/reset) so it's the only device.

Might take a look at the Amazon auto if I can't get it working. It's weird tho. I can play music no probs. When a call comes in, the audio paused but the call will not come thru the audio and the MBBluetooth option doesn't appear on the phone. Very frustrating!
