Personally I'd stick with the C63 over the E63. I had the choice of both when I bought my C63 but decided on the C63...

Weighs less

Looks better (subjective)

Nicer seats (saloon)

Just have a quaife fitted from MSL

The seats in the contender were pretty good - heated & cooled, slightly less aggressive bolstering (which Mrs hates!), and which is probably better for 80% of my mileage.

But, after a wee schlep to Pentillie Castle this afternoon, I just need to get the diff sorted me thinks. It did look quite steely sat in the grounds... Forgot to take a pic! :-(

Well, got the written confirmation, finally, on Wednesday afternoon (only took a week).

And accidentally came home from Gatwick/Redhill area today... via Guildford... and that E63!

It is very nice; much closer to my old CLS interior-wise (no great shock there)... and did look better in the flesh than in pics.

Was very tidy at initial walk around... Mrs would prefer the seats!

Oh... And it has that AMG gear selector!!!

Just do it. Life is too short for regrets. ;)

True enough Carl... But I keep shortening my financial status with cars!!!

Is there a Mini-Me version of you perched on my shoulder? I keep hearing a voice.....

I'm great at spending other people's money. I'd be amazing at spending my own.

Sadly the [STRIKE] bank manager [/STRIKE] wife stops me! :(

Regrettably, I need very little assistance in the spending department!

As I think I got zapped coming home, the last thing I need is more apples!

Even more annoyingly, I'd had the cruise pegged at 75 the whole way, apart from one blip whilst overtaking trucks... With a taxi up my chuff... And thank you very much Mr Van At Side Of Road! :-(

Just out of interest, are there any foibles / weak spots with the 5.5 bi-turbo and adjustable damping...?

Yep. They make you want to spend more money to release more ponies.

Or is that just me.....?

I could have an F1 car and I'd still need to find a way to make it quicker. :D

thats easy anyhow. just remove some of the restrictions the F1 regs put on the engines. like throttle body diameter, boost pressure, engine size, minimum weight limits etc. all will make them faster if you dont have to adhere to the FIA restrictions.

besides, who would WANT an F1 car? there are family saloons/estates here with as near as matters the same power! there was a Mustang on ebay a few months back, not far from here, with 1000bhp!!! and that was, according to the seller, when running on the AMERICAN fuel. im told they go even better on OUR fuel!

But an F1 car can generate enough downforce to drive upside down through a tunnel.....

If Hamilton has any Balls he will do an upside overtake on Sunday.:lol:

I'll pop to Halfrauds in the morning...!

seriously though, even the old (and relatively slow by modern standards) factory escort cosworth with the full aero pack developed enough downforce to hold it back by 4mph on its top speed and rumour had it (dont know if it was ever proved) that the ride height on showroom spec suspension dropped by 7mm when flat out (140mph officially with the aero pack)

now, given that ive been told a jet (like the one you go on holiday in) can get off the ground from as 'slow' as 100mph, (not sure if i believe the guy that told me though) then surely it cant be all that hard to get something as relatively light as a car (compared to a jet) to be able to produce similar levels of downforce to be able to theoretically drive upside down

Depends on their take off weight. An A320, if memory serves, looks to rotate circa 130kts, with a decision point at 120. (Although a fixed - wing chappie may well be along shortly with more up to date info!)

I reckon mine sounds better in the tunnel than Lewis's though!!!
