This car is driving me mad. Four times it has been into the garage in limp mode for DPF excess soot code. Independent says soot level is nowhere near high level. Resets all parameters runs fine for about 4 weeks then bam straight back into limp mode. Runs spot on for about four weeks before failing. The annoying thing is the garage shouldn't be charging for failed, attempt but they spin the yarn we have run a complete diagnostic sir, zzzZzzz

Hello and welcome,

Find a garage that knows what they're doing... where are you based?

We can't just assume it's the sensor, mechanic told me it was returning normal readings, how he knew this I don't know. Just noticed how cheap they are going to replace it myself. I have the icarsoft Mb v. 02. So should be able to clear the fault afterwards.

Please find herewith, copy of readings of Live Data from my iCarsoft MB v2.0 associated with a 'check DPF' function from a cold engine just after startup, as you can see there are readings from 12 replaceable items all of which, if out of parameters will inhibit a DPF Regen, such as sensors/functions that when you find replacing one of them doesn't fix your problem, you have another 11 to go after one by one. Good luck with that! OR...

Sell your scanner to someone who knows how to use it and with the profits, contact Richard Hollings in York and use your money wisely! :)

B28 is easy enough to check for a pressure reading . In most cases changing it cures the problem . The rest is a domino effect as far as errors go.

A true clogged dpf won't respond to changing anything I don't suppose. But b28 is a good starting point , cheap and easy to change. It's also a common issue with mb's.
