C220 EXECUTIVE SECDI AUTO
Hi all, I just aquired a 2015 C220 EXECUTIVE SE CDI AUTO. Been trying to find a Haynes manual for it without any success.
My question is- are the previous C220's up to 2014 basically the same car or is there a vast difference in earlier models. Only manuals I can find are for 2007-2014.
Any help much appreciated.
cheers Graham

I have the predecessor, chassis code W204, and the first thing I bought after an OBD2 scanner was the Haynes Manual you refer to in your post and it was a disappointment, this manual was found to be lacking in detail, only covers around 50-60% of everything I've looked for in it, the electrical wiring diagrams are a joke, a typical example was the procedure to change the ATF in a 7G+transmission and the description states, (Words to the effect of) "You're too stupid to understand this complicated procedure, refer to a MB approved workshop" :geek:
But maybe I expected more than Haynes usually do? It does however contain a lot of technical information that's helpful and procedures for a lot of day-to-day regular stuff, I understand your model year still has the OM 651 engine coupled to the 7G+ transmission and the same (W204 Facelift Chassis) so I would guess the Haynes manual in question would fit the bill for most of what you would be looking for?

Hi Tony, thanks for the reply, much appreciated. Maybe I'm not getting the grasp of what you are saying but, do you mean that the 2007-2014 will cover day to day stuff which is what I want
Cheers

Haynes Manuals are quite good for cars of the past ;)

Yes, check your documentation and input your VIN here to decode to a data sheet https://www.mbdecoder.com/
to confirm you have the OM 651 Engine and the 722.XXX (7G+) gearbox which are covered in the manual as well as the facelift 204 Chassis
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_C-Class_(W205) is a handy reference for a read!

I put it on elsewhere but I'll start one here.
Warning light relating to brakes. Renewed discs, pads, fluid etc but light still on. Bought a diagnostic reader and it shows no faults so assuming it cannot deactivate warning. Is there any way of deactivating the warning at all, its not a great problem but if there is no fault I'd sooner have it off
Cheers

Budget OBD2 readers, will only read the ECU and no other modules, iCarsoft, Autel or better is what you need.

Cheers Tony, can you advise on what I need for the problem I have.
If you have a preferred make and model that would be great
Cheers

My preference would be an iCarsoft MB Range for an MB specific reader or a CR range to read all manufacturers, go to https://ljmcardiagnostics.co.uk/?gc...LzI6z7cN_uIl4vSKVP0g-NYVUA8Xjf2hoCMSgQAvD_BwE
Have a look at their range and talk to their advisors, different models have different capabilities, there are other official UK agents, don't buy outside of an official agent as there are many non genuine ones for sale that won't be recognised by the manufacturer for updating the software periodically.
