Hi all, first ever post so I hope it's in the right place:

I recently purchased a 2015 C300 self charging hybrid estate and am finding I'm achieving approx 600 kms between refills, or less than 400 miles. Not amazing but not all that surprising considering the car doesn't have the largest tank. However I've since come across a few reviews of the car from around the time of its launch that refer to a range of approx 850 MILES. That's almost 1400 kms. Surely there's no way that figure can be realistic? Does my tank have a hole in it??

Can anyone give their experience?

Hello and welcome,

How big is the tank? I had 925 miles on one tank from my W213 E220d with a 65 ltr tank.

With all that extra gear it will have a smaller tank, won't it.

50 litres I believe. I know the published performance numbers are generally arrived at in practically laboratory conditions and I should have qualified that the vast majority of my driving so far has been city with virtually none on the open road but it still seems like quite a shortfall

You won’t get even half the range just driving in town. You’re also carrying a lot more weight than you need to... (and I don’t mean you need to join slimming world,..;)) with the batteries. Weight is the enemy of economy

We've all packed on a bit of additional insulation post-lockdown so you're probably more accurate than you thought

I saw "official" (unicorn) city driving figures of 72 mpg vs 78 mpg on the motorway. I'm obviously nowhere near that. Is this a simple case of driving in the real world rather than in the brochure? My average consumption is 8 litres per 100km according to the car
