Hello all,
I said I would take a look at a friends E class which seems to have gotten damp in the carpet area under seat (RHD car).
There have been numerous errors including, but not limited to:
- Car sometimes won't start.
- Won't go into drive. Transmission errors coming up on dash.
- When it is scanned on a diagnostics, it shows errors on any modules I have interrogated about not being able to communicate with it.
My thinking was that because it's so many modules complaining that it could be the central gateway. (Quick google shows similar issues and resolved by replacing due to damp).
Before I saw the extent of the CAN errors, I thought that perhaps it might have been just one SAM which was broken.
I was going to take out the central gateway and have a look and see if there is any corrosion on the board etc.. along with the connector pins.
Just trying to figure out where it is located. WIS says passenger footwell - but that's a LHD car. I wonder if it's in same place for RHD car. I assume so?
