Hello all, I’m new to the forum and new to Mercedes ownership.

I’ve always had BMWs and finally had my head turned by a stunning 2016 white E63 so took the plunge!

Now I’ve loved driving it for the last 4 months. Today I’ve taken it in for its first MOT and brakes are advisory. Safe to say I enjoyed getting the price for replacement pads and discs (front and rear) far less than the driving experience!
The money they’re quoting is eye watering. If I’m paying that sort of money are there any aftermarket options that’ll improve braking I should consider instead?

Or any better place to buy the parts and get them fitted separately? I live in Kent.

Any help gratefully received, thanks Neill.

That’s great thank you. I’ll make enquiries.
The car has only done 29k miles. As I said I’m new to Mercs and haven’t had anything as high powered before but always got to 50/60k miles in my BMWs

I wouldn’t particularly be concerned about an advisory, you have brake wear sensors and they go off well before the pads are worn out. I’m not saying they’re drumming up trade but an E63 is a powerful car so they might be erring very much on the side of caution. I’d take a look myself and look around for prices and the like but I wouldn’t be rushing to change them yet.

Prices from MB Grangemouth in 2017 were the best around (c 30% discount)
Fitted the pads myself- the discs I left for the time being.
15-20k for pads on these is good going
