Hi, just having trouble with my heater, the blower and control panel inside my van keeps going off due to a blown fuse, I've changed the fuse around 6 times now and every time I start the engine the fuse blows straight away and heater goes off, I've done a xentry diagnostics check and it's only picking a fault up with my aircon, and door window power switch having no signal change, could this be shorting the fuses? Or something else

Thanks

Hi mate, the blower fan comes on with just the ignition switched on, but when I try starting the engine the fuse blows straight away, I've even tried higher amped fuses and all the same

There will be a short to ground somewhere on the circuit - changing fuses for larger amperage will just lead to a fire… get a meter out and start testing wires

Thanks, I have a meter but haven't a clue where to start testing the circuit wires lol, wouldn't xentry have picked the electrical fault up and the location?

Probably not, diagnostics will advise on some stuff but needs interpretation as short circuits and the like can show up as faults on other devices and stuff then gets replaced at £££ costs without anything being resolved.

I'd get an auto-electrician to do tests - that way you're less likely to have a fire or ££££ bill for replacement units
