Hi Team,

So a few days ago, i got the Ad Blue alert pop that it needs to be refilled, with the 500mile count down. So I ordered x2 10litre ad blue bottles. They arrived today. I put 10ltrs in first, done the whole adblue reset thing with the ignition on/off for 30 seconds, waited about 10 minutes and then turned the ignition on again. However it still had the ad blue alert with the counter, so i thought it might need more. I then put around another 8-9ltrs in as it filled up it. Closed everything up and thought i’d try the ad blue reset thing again with the ignition. Done that, waited 5 minutes, then tried the ignition on again.

So the alert is still there, even though there’s close to 20ltrs in there! And also now, if i go to the adblue section on the dash it says “cannot measure”? I’m a bit lost as to what to do? There definitely is more than enough ad blue in there. I’ve attached some pictures for you to see.

Has anyone come across this on their E220d W213?? And what was done to get it sorted?

Take it out for a run, it'll reset. Failing that, the system needs a diagnostic

If it doesnt reset, have a look at this thread. There has been a lot of comment here recently about similar problems. Partly, it’s related to cars not being used much during lockdown and the AdBlue systems getting stuck up with crystals and sometimes it happens after a “mandatory” software update to adjust the NOx sensors which often upsets the whole system.

I hope yours just needs a run as @CowleyStJames says. Good luck!
