2019 Final update maps for Command NTG 2.5

your next pic is saying MOST UCI on yours, but its not showing that screen on the pics from the other car

Can someone say if you get 5 or 7 digit post code entry on the NTG2.5 unit please ?

5 digit on the 2018-19 last update - although I've given up on using postcodes in NTG, whether the 2.5 in the SLK or 4 in the S204, just use street address then if necessary the map to fine tune the destination - after first finding it on Google Maps on my PC!

7 digit on my NTG2.5 - had the software updated but not bothered updating the maps - use it daily

Never tried it on mine (R171 same as yours) Russ, only on the NTG4 on the S204! Got so fed up trying it on the NTG4 on the S204 I haven't bothered!

As per Chris' reply above he hasn't tried it in his NTG 2.5 in his SLK - it has 7 digit postcode

interesting..... can't see the file that shows the list of postcodes - long felt maybe its just the list that's missing and you could bravely overload the harddrive and totally break it

half the time on my NTG3.0 unit you don't find a postcode (even at 5 digits many are still missing), so you laboriously find the address the slow way, and then it pops and shows full 7 digit postcode afterwards - its like one never updated list to select and one list on the maps where it finds stuff ???

I posted some rubbish about updating the comand on the NTG3.0 the other day - now I have the "both" cds it says are compatible I can see one disc would not update all my unit as a big folder full of interesting stuff isn't on the 216 disc but its on the 221 disc. But then other bits are wrong - and I found where the clock fix file sits

I guess the full 7 digit list must sit hidden wrapped up on a NTG3.5 disc - but its a different set up

Having started this thread decided not to try and update. I've bought a slightly larger iPhone and it is in a better/safer position to view in its holder than the Command unit.... and I do like to see the cows etc on Google maps.

Agreed. My NTG2.5 in the R class is 7 digit.

OK, I'll play with the SLK and try, but to be honest the postcode search on the NTG4 in the 204 is so pants I never bother trying to input a destination by postcode, I invariably first use Google Maps to see where I want to go, then use postal address (without postcode) and the map to refine if necessary, then instead of Start I use Save. Either that, or when I get there I Save Location, then use that location as a destination and save it with the appropriate name! However, that only works where the maps know there is a road. Daughters' inlaws moved last year to a new development the maps are totally unaware of, so NTG4 gets me close but I need Google Maps on my phone to get to their front door, and NTG4 will not save the location as it thinks I'm in the middle of a field!

Heading to friends in Southampton tomorrow in the SLK, so just tried entering destination via postcode, it took all 7 characters (without the space in the middle) and immediately found the crescent in Ocean Village where they live!

Rather begs the question - why does a 2008 SLK with Comand NTG2.5 have this, when the 2008 S204 with Comand NTG4 does not - all the maps come from Navteq (or whatever it's now called after MB Audi and I forget the 3rd car company) bought it out.

Don't think there is one available, had the car at comand.co.uk a couple of years ago for the HDD to be changed out and upgraded so maps later than 2014-15 could be installed, I'm sure if it was possible they'd have done it, also since then Arrowfleet Mainenance have had their star/Xentry plugged into it a few times (including re-programming the dash when for some reason it lost its programming!) and they've siad nothing (although there was another update they did, don't know for what though).

Maybe @Alfie can advise whether a firmware update and/or maps later than the 2019 they installed are available.
