2020 C300 Coupe 4MATIC or 2017 E300 4MATIC

Hey there,

I'm new to the thread and am wanting an opinion on which car you guys would recommend purchasing. I'm buying a certified pre-owned Mercedes and I am going back and forth between two cars.

1. 2020 C300 Coupe 4MATIC
1,200 KM
Selenite Grey
Saddle brown/Black ARTICO
Premium Package
Sport Package

2. 2017 E300 4MATIC
10,000 KM
Kallait Green Metallic
Nut Brown Leather with Burl High Gloss Walnut
Premium Package
MXP Exclusive Package

Both are a very similar price

I'm a 31 year old male who drives around the city to and from work. Not much long distance driving. I am not sure which car to purchase. I like the C-Class coupe but I understand that there is a remodel for the 2022 C class. On one hand I like the Coupe looking cooler, but also like the E class because the 2017 model will be 'current' for a few more years and also feels more luxurious compared to the C Class. Do you guys have an opinion on which car you would recommend over the other? The prices are similar and I want to know what you guys think is a better buy. Totally open to what you guys think. I’d take both for a decent test drive and see which one you enjoy being in.

Shouldn’t you be using the TTC to get to work though?

I drive an E400 coupe so i'm biased, the interior is a great place to be, the new C coupe's definitely improved on the iPad thing stuck in the center but... it still feels like an afterthought,

drive both and see how you feel, also, please post some pics of them

Me personally would go for the C class coupe, it's newer, less milage, and looks a lot better, but as said test drive them both, see what you like more.

Its always a strange one when somebody asks what car they should buy, because it always comes down to ones personal opinion and that may not be the same as yours.
I believe in these situations a person will always have their own preference and really should not be swayed on how to spend their money by the opinion of strangers.
Both are lovely cars, but the C 300 is virtually brand new with full manufacturers warranty until 2023 when it will also be due its first MOT.
Given the similar price and trim spec it would have to be the C 300 for me.
Overall the E is naturally a nicer car though.

The E class every time for me after all it’s MBs bread and butter car with superior build quality - and of course it’s much more comfortable for me at 6’ 2” in height

Welcome, and your getting very good advice from the members, so just to make one comment from my personal experience, and it concerns the Artico seat covering...I ( and many others ) had bad experiences with it. In fairness, it was a 2010 Eclass w212 200 cdi. So maybe they have improved it in the newer models. But, whatever you decide, best of luck with it.
