Here is a new one for the experts...Now that my wife is driving again following our accident in April, she has noticed that the driver's seat of this car doesn't adjust upwards as far as any of the other C Classes did, leaving her a bit short of view when driving. A little bit of investigation has shown that the front passenger's seat rises about 35 - 50 mm further and gives her a better view of the road.

So far my supplying dealership haven't been able to confirm if there is a problem, but I wonder if anyone else with a 2013 Facelft C Class with Sport Pack has become aware of this.

I would really appreciate it someone could take the time to check for me. Many thanks,

Ernie

It should not be too hard to do something to raise the seat, how would it affect you if it sat say 35 mm higher when at its lowest point.

There are 4 or 5 bolts that hold the seat down to the car, longer bolts and spacers of the necessary length say 35mm would do the job just fine, you could use longer ones, they are usually 10mm bolts.

Another way would to be to use a U channel iron, drill out the bottom of one side to allow the original bolts to fix it down, and drill and tap the the top side to take 10mm bolts that line up with the seat fitting holes, these holes could be just a touch to wards the front, this would give the better result.

Thanks for that, Malcolm...There's a handy wee blacksmith's locally who could cut me 4 pieces of channel, so will have a look at that as a possibility.

My thought at the moment is that both seats go down to the same level; it is just that the driver's has a restricted height movement for some reason, maybe a micro-switch needing reset?

I fitted seat lifters under the passenger side of my 968 (herself is a bit short and did not like looking at the dash instead of through the windscreen, even with the seat at max height). Really easy - just some aluminium bar (readily available on the Evilbay) about 25mm wide by however much you want to lift the seat (in my case 12mm) and some suitable mounting bolts the same amount linger than the originals - again found on Ebay). Cut 4 pieces of bar to a suitable length, the bar is easily drilled, worked superbly!
