Hi
My 210 320cdi estate has developed an extremely irritating squeak/creak from the rear n/s seatback. If I release the catch on the seatback then the squeak goes away. If I lock it back properly then it may be quiet for a short while and then it starts squeaking again. Has anyone else experienced, & hopefully solved, this? The car is otherwise very quiet and it is driving me mad

I'm having the exact same problem with mine, except it's a W124. It's only the one on the left side and like you, the rattle goes away for about 20 minutes if I release and re-lock the seat.

Did you ever resolve this? Does anybody else have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

I had the same and it was leather rubbing against leather [I think], cure was the same. I put some cloth behind the seat where it rested against the wheel arches to increase the pressure on the locking brackets. Seems to only happen sometimes but it sorted the problem.

Olaf, I tried your idea and it helped a lot. It's much quieter now and I can cruise in peace.

Much much appreciated.
