215 rear light units

Can these be tested ? I know thet are LED in parts and id say thats whats at fault on one of mine, any advice welcome

Yes, same as any other light cluster. Ground is ground, red is red. All the conversion happens internally I think

If you can get it apart you'll likely find a track break or water damage

No, as they are diodes, but you can test the diodes (each LED) if you have diode function on a multimeter. What are the symptoms, no light at all?

A diode function ? Hmmm , just throwing up the warning, left indicator failure , left taillight failure even before i used anything , i swapped the rear sam and the fault is exactly the same so it must be the lamp unit

Sorry, I'm talking about the brake LEDs only. If indicator is not working as well, could be a bad ground cabke or pin in the connector. Have you checked for power at the relevant pins on the connector?

I will take note if i get a brake light warning alex but its usually just indicator and tail light , yes but it all checked out ok when tested hence why i changed the rear SAM

interestingly , ive just driven 20 miles without a warning popping up or the indicator blinking fast , strange

Thats so irritating, after 6 whole days without any fault relating to the rear light unit , today on the motorway, dabbed to pull into fast lane and 'ding' left rear indicator faulty, grrrr , MB2 shows the fault but also allows it to be cleared and it doesn't return despite the indicator flashin quickly in the car , what does this tell us ? Any ideas folks ?

Sounds like loose connection either wire, or break in track or solder. for tracks silver electric paint is top comes on bottles like nail polish

Well it has to be something pal lol , so you think i should take the unit and test fir the above ??
