Hi all,

I'm thinking of replacing the rear wing on my 1989 230CE coupe. The Russian site shows that it curves round to form the C pillar, and the horizontal part above the windows is then a separate panel: http://www.detali.ru/cat/oem_mb2.as...GM=717.413&CT=F&cat=15T&SID=63&SGR=075&SGN=02

Questions: How do you remove the rear wing? How is it joined/sealed/painted with the horizontal panel so as to appear and remain seamless?

All input appreciated.

Many thanks

That is a very skilled job,, it is more normal now to buy a rear wing and cut out the rusty parts on your own wing and weld the new parts taken from the new one.

Some body shop from the old school can fabricate new sections in house.

To replace that wing you would end up re spraying the whole car, with just the inserts, only the wing.

In the event of a carsh where the rear wing was damaged, it would write the car off these days
