Re weeping of coolant out of Thermostat housing, this has been repaired with araldite 2 days ago and engine started with no problem, runs as smooth as silk, however went to start this morning and would only start and run with difficulty, sounded as if it was on 2 cylinders, banging and very lumpy, left it and convinced myself that head gasket had blown or worse,checked no water in oil, header tank up to the mark, so left it and mulled over what car would be replacing my lovely 230E, if the garage wanted over £500 for a new head etc.
Went out to visit friends for a couple of hours, on returning got keys and engine started and ran as if nothing had happened, ( Flooding of carb?)Any answers please no prizes, just the satisfaction that you know you have convinced an old man that there is nothing to worry about, Fixed income and all that!
