I was thinking of getting a new (old) car as I have sold the 560.

I've always liked the w114/5 shape, especially the pre-facelifted ones with the front quarterlights.

Anyway, after doing a bit of research I found out there was a 240d built with a 3 litre, 5 pot engine; the 240d 3.0. However, I've never seen one. Where they built in RHD or would I have to get the 240d?

Anybody got a diesel one of these?

Cheers, only ever seen one in Germany, although others may not be badged. I am just a little fearful that the 240d or 220d will be ridiculously slow instead of incredibly slow.

Needs to be diesel as I get my WVO free.

Yes I gave away the road test of this car with the 3 liter engine to a Mercedes club member I think that there were only about 3 in the UK and the first one is still running.

The 240 could be rather slow as you say
