Hi guys.

Just preparing for net winter, so seeing if anyone has a pair of Winter 245/40/17's available?

Would consider buying a set of wheels if needs be.

Thanks,
G.

Seems to be an uncommon size - it's what I have on my S204, searched the other day for all season tyres, can't find any in that size! I think I found a couple of winters on Tyreleader though - but as I have a set of 16" winter alloys that didn't help.

How will downgrading to 16" in winter affect the car setup, in terms of TPMS? It throws a wobbly anytime there is a slight deviation away from normal PSI.

The 16's have the same rolling radius as the 17's, OK the TPMS flashes up straight after the change, but it's just a case of telling it the tyre pressures are correct and it's happy - until 1 of the 16's looses pressure so the rolling radius changes - the TPMS on my car does not actually measure tyre pressure, it monitors rotation speed of each wheel (like the ABS) and warns when a wheel is going a different speed, presumably for a while rather than immediate reaction or it would go off too often.

The benefit of 16's in snow is that the tyres are narrower.

My Clk rears are 245/40/17 I believe , in the winter I use 16" steel wheels all the same size with 205/55/16 . No problems with any tyre warnings after the tyre thingy is reset .
