.........We are looking at this model as a replacement for the previous SLK 350, are there any issues that need to be aware of?
Thanks in advance.

My wife went from a SLK200K to a SLC250d 17 months ago, very pleased its quicker & more economic than the SLK. Ours is the 9 speed, I think the SLK250 is a 7 speed.
Overall 50mpg & will do 70mpg on a run even at 70mph. Road tax £30 before April 17, get the best spec you can Apple Play is well worth having.

Glad you said it first, 4 pot Diesel in a convertibubble is not good IMO

Thanks guys, yes can't believe it myself, convertible diesel and a 4 pot. Worse things have happened like when my best buddy who was BMW, Mercedes performance V8's or inline 6 350bhp minimum, manual gearbox only man turns up at mine in his brand new 13 plate 4 cylinder automatic BMW
Unfortunately can't stretch to a newer SL, especially as my wife needs to finance all my other toys

My only issue with diseasal is the modern carp that’s bolted onto it. The 9g box is great. I’d look for an SLC300 although still going to have the huge wheels.
SLK55 ~2015 would be my choice…;)

As I've said before, IMHO 2 seat sports car with a diesel engine is an oxymoron - but I empahasise IMHO, as I love my current V6 petrol and loved the IL4 3L 968's before it, and did not change the 968 for a bigger V6 or V8 due to management interference!!!

The purists will struggle with a sports car diesel I have no such problem, over 70% of SLC's are diesel.
Yes a risk with Euro 6 & add blue but no problems here so far, & I can go into Birmingham clear air zone for free.
SLC300 is over £40K & £500 a year road tax, against £30 with the SLC250d.
Agreed the 9G box is great.

Congrats, Oodles of torque from no revs and I find sport mode on mine is a bit lively in town...

Thanks David. I was quite surprised by the amount of torque

Good to know some of the faults to watch out for Dean.
So far.....
Run flat tyre pressure low. It's just had 4 new tyres today. One of the first jobs to scan out of the system as the run flat sensors have long gone.
Second job will be discs and pads. What is it with every car I buy they need brakes doing......SL500, SKL350, SL55 and now the SLK250 not to mention all the other makes I buy.
I'm beginning to think that is why owners sell theirs cars

Sounds like more reasons to get a V6 3L or 5.5L petrol instead of a 250 oil burner!!:p:p:p

When age creeps up on us Chris so does brain malfunctions and buying with head instead of the heart is a pain in the butt!! :( But not all my malfunctions are not able to be cleared :D
I still have 3 petrol V8's, 1 petrol V6, 2 in-line diesel 4's, 2 in-line petrol 6's, 1 in-line diesel 6 and a V twin  Oh, and going look at an Astra diesel estate tomorrow with the Missus money. Just for a quick turnaround :)

The run flat “sensor“ might be the ABS speed sensors, as a speed differential can indicate that a tyre has lost pressure
