New to the forum - just bought a 2006 280 SLK.

I have a fan which sounds like its hitting or slightly touching something when turned on! (sounds like it's coming from behind the glove box).

Any ideas? A bit of WD40 on something possibly?

Welcome to the forum,,maybe a debris was blown in the air intake or a parking ticket slid down the demister vents,, by taking off the air intake grill in front of the screen you can get to it.
I have the info on doing this

Hi Malcolm, thanks for this would appreciate any guidance or pics on removing the front grill please?

I did have water leaking into the car and found the battery box was full of rain water. Soaked it up with a sponge but could water in the heater blower cause the chirping sound? If so, what can I do about it?:D

The noise would have been the control unit did not like being wet. I have sent you the 2 papers to be able to get to it
