I would like to know if a slight flat spot at idle is normal on the above engine,I have had it checked by M B,and they say all is as it should be,the car is 4 weeks old.

Can you describe it in a bit more detail?

I've got a C32 and there is NO flatspot; setting off from 0mph requires a careful right foot, or the wheels spin.

Is this when you notice the flatspot?

I have the SLK32,and you are right you need a gentle right foot,The flat spot is  more a hesitation on acceleration,it makes no difference if I am gentle on the throttle or not,MB dealer checked the engine management and said the timing and all the other characteristics of the engine are correct,it does this if the engine is cold or hot.Having said that it is a peerless engine at all other times.

Matt,
I don't recognise the problem, in the sense that my car has never suffered with it.
There is a difference somewhere in the fuel system between the SLK32 and C32, but it has only ever been mentioned in the context of removing the engine governor - changes are needed on system for the SLK, but not for the C32.
Only other suggestion I can make is that you try posting your problem at

http://www.c32life.com/

which is a very active N American board, with upwards of 100 C32 owners - maybe 10 or so from the UK contribute - to see whether anyone recognises the problem.

Good luck, sorry can't help more.

Guy,thanks very much for taking the time to reply,I will give c32life a go,as an optional extra, not in the AMG brochure, try an egg under the throttle pedal it stops wheelspin.      Enjoy motoring, goodluck.
Matt.
