3 Lights on !

Hiya,
My brother has got a 54 plate Srinter 311CDi. He's been having problems with the hazards not working.
He went to the scrap yard and bought a replacement.
He didn't disconnect the battery before he swapped them over.
He's put the replacement on and has still got the problem, so he put his original one back on.
From that point on he has got 3 warning lights on, as follows.....

ABS Malfunction
ESP
ASR
We tried disconnecting the battery but that hasn't worked.

If anyone could offer any help it would be most appreciated.

Start the engine and turn the steering from lock to lock 3 times.

Just tried that and it didn't work.

Any more suggestions ?

Will probably need to go on a diagnostic machine then.

I have a standard plug in charge of £35 +VAT, but I am pretty good value...

Most places charge an hours labour I think.
