300ce vibration under braking

Hi all

My 1990 300ce (185k miles) has been suffering from vibration under braking, very similar symtoms to what I've experienced from warped discs. Consequently, I've changed the front discs and pads gaining several bruises and scrapes in the process, only to find the problem is still there.

I guess the next port of call is suspension/steering components but not sure where to start with diagnosing this.

Any thoughts much appreciated.

Dont forget the rear disc, these will cause the whole car to shake, where as the fronts make the steering shake more than the car

aye id check them too , im not sure on the front/rear brake bias split but being a rear wheel drive car its probably more than a front wheel drive , and the vibrations would transmit through the whole drivechain. suspension components tend to clunk more than vibrate so unlikely to be that. wheel bearings are my other thought

Definitely go with the rear disc theory. Also, you sure your calipers aren't binding slightly... mine were and caused slightly shaky braking.

Worn Torsion Bar bushes can also contribute to shaking wheels under braking, so can lower ball joints.
