300d vacuum cutoff

Hi new here, need some help with 1994 300d. Have had head off to deal with waer in oil prob, back together now but engine wont turn off. Have found vacuum cut off pipe, but somehow it has come disconected. Where should it be attached to? Any help appreciated please.

It attaches on to a little diaphragm on the top of the IP near the back.

The other end runs back to the ignition switch, dont ask me how it gets there, on the wifes 300D 1993 with the 603 engine it runs past the battery and across the bulkhead into the passenger compartment, the 606 engine could be different though.

Hi,

I am just trying to find out for a friends car that also has this problem.
He said he drove it and all was fine then came to the destination and it would not turn off (guessing this is to do with the vacuum pipe) where does it attach in the engine bay (what is the IP?).

He also said that the gearshift was jerky compared to normal and when trying to brake seems to have lost the power assisted brakes. Would these have any link to the ignition vacuum or more likely to be their own problems?

CHe In the case of your friend if you have lost servo assistence, engine wont turn off and jerky gear changes it could be vacum pump failure.
