300SL rust/water trap

Hi

I have a F reg one and have found water on the front chassic member's after it rains which is making rust and it can not drain away.

How do you get rid of the water????
(I have to dry it out after it rains :twisted:

Dave, paint me a pen pecture of exactly where your trouble is. I'll then go and have a shufti at mine and see if there is a drain hole or something blocked on yours, or whether mine has the same trouble.

Its right under the ABS box m8.

Think we may of found another hole but not sure.

Dave, I have something similar, front left, low down just behind the headlamp. This was one of the first things I saw, as we looked at our car in the rain. The water comes in from the corner of the headlamp and the grille, where there is a bit of a gap. I'm going to dry it off, clean it up, paint it with rust neutralizer, and then do some waxoyl or other water shedding type coverage,and just keep ane eye on it.
Funnily enough, a similar puddle collects in my C280, but the better rustproofing resists all attempts by the water to have a go.
