hi there people
just been reading some threads about sprinter problems......well, i've got a 2000 W reg 310D 4.2mtr sprinter...wait for it...it's done 434000 miles and still going...it had a top end rebuild when it was on 230000 miles...i get all the problems most people are experiencing...with the glow plug light staying on...yep it is down to a glow plug gone down i've been told...but still starts good on cold mornings....must have good compression..lol....sometimes i feel lack of power when pressing the pedal down ....but when engine was turned off and started again it seems ok....i use my sprinter 5-6 days a week covering around 200-300 miles a day at least... and i still get 500 miles at least out of a tank of fuel even when loaded with about a ton or so of goods or pallets...yeah i know it wont go for ever..but touch wood getting another this year..not sure if to stick with the normal 310D or go for a CDi 311 313....i cant fault my old bus..it's done me well and earnt it's keep..
some people at work say get an iveco there bigger i know but...i cant complain about my sprinter... fair enough it's had a full exhaust system and dual mass fly wheel and clutch...new disc's and pads...tyres etc....but past experience tells me merc is the way
cheers
