Does anyone know what the spec of the two fuel houses going into the fuel filter on the 07’ 320cdi engine are? Or, a link to a pair sold online? Mine look brittle and I’d like to replace them at the same time as it’s serviced.

I can’t see any on eBay offered by Merc and sadly phoning Grangemouth is a no go as I don’t have PayPal and they can’t take my card payment over the phone. If anyone knows the internal diameter etc I’d be happy to order up gates braided hoses.

As sample random pic of the same engine is below;

I got one of the hoses recently from MB Newcastle eBay , just message them with your car reg , they will make email you back with a personal sale package and hey presto it’s on the way . Also get the metal clips , they are two different sizes

Thanks Wighty! I will give them a call in the morning. Is there a specific person in parts the forum deals with?

£30 good lord. Wouldn't fuel hose from a car parts shop suffice are are the hoses shaped ?

I don’t think they are anything special over any other fuel hose, other than being and bent to length. They are either crap quality or, had halfwits in dealer overalls knackering them up over the years.

That looks like it goes elsewhere and not the fuel filter

Ther are two hoses to the fuel filter , one is a short one a few inches long the other (in my link above ) is a complicated multi bend thingy .

I suppose if you are going to have a go with non MB ones you will have to take the old ones off and carefully measure them before purchasing a suitable high pressure hose

I'd think fuel hose may take a form within that plastic bracket ,but the ends still look shaped ,normal hose may kink !!

Just been to check the above linked hose (it’s in the garage ) some of the bends are preformed to a shape , so I think you are right they may kink on the bends .

The long one with the plastic cage/ Fuel Filter to High Pressure Pump Pipe is part number A6420701681
I replaced mine with the above from Mercedes Benz Newcastle eBay.
The short one I have replaced on mine but I think on that one even the ends are different sizes .
I have run biodiesel / veg over the years and have always been replacing fuel hoses so I toyed with the idea of replacing the long one in the plastic cage with some over the counter fuel hose, but it’s a no go as the pipe will kink as mentioned in other posts so to do the job you would have around a metre or more of hose draped over the engine to get it to work.
The hose is viton or similar on my om642 in my 06 Jeep Grand Cherokee and is not affected by biodiesel , mine both simply rotted due to engine heat and the ends on the filter fittings were weak and starting to fall apart.
One bonus is the return line setup appears to be around £30 on Amazon , these used to be circa £140 or more and you could not even buy the clips that lock onto injectors

Not a bad idea to replace the pipe clips whilst you are at it. Again two different sizes.

Thanks for mentioning MB Newcastle. They had these on eBay but, when I searched fuel filter hose for the 320 couldn’t find them. Just had to change the 320 to om642
