320 SL 1999 The problem is with the side windows, at the moment both are still working going up and down, but, I sometimes get a juddering as the window moves in its groves, do I need to perhaps use some soap in the runners to give some clean lubrication or is the problem a bit deeper than that.

You can buy a special lubricant from MB for use on the 'velvet' window seals. These tend to accumulate dirt and create sticking points over time with wear.

Ideally the dookskin should be removed - the alignment of the window (outer trim removed) and regulator checked as well as parts greased.
