Both of the rear wings on my car have badly corroded.  I believe a new wing costs about £500 from Mercedes.  As the top of the wings are in good condition and as it is quite a major job to cut out and weld back the whole lot I would like to know if anyone produces just the bottom half?

Hi John,  I bought a pair of replacement wheel arch sections from Julian Larkin of www.mercedesparts.co.uk . There is always a likelihood of finding damage to the inner arches so I bought a bit of extra sheet steel just in case. Don't be scared of cutting back rusty metal and welding in.  So long as the weld is dressed down properly with an angle grinder you will be able to blend the old to the new with minimal use of filler.  Try not to allow too much of an overlap as this can produce a rust trap and you certainly don't want that.
