No balancer shaft needed. How can MB make this one rubbish?

Interesting move to the 60 degree angle - makes you wonder why they didn't do it sooner.

90 degrees obviously isn't ideal for a V6 in terms of efficiency.

That said, the M112 3.2 V6 was a 90 degree was it not and those engines seem to be completely bombproof - many W210/W208 with crazy mileages.

They made the balancer shafts better on those

I'm curious about this engine, if it gets anywhere near the claimed figures its worth a look?
