4 month wait for new C class

I ordered my CLA Shooting Brake 180 AMG Sport early May and I've got a delivery date of August 18th. Both Coupe and Shooting Brake made in the same factory.

What colour did you go for? Did you go for any options?

Hurrah - but wondering why don't you wait a couple of days for the new reg? And I know it's small beer in the great scheme of things, but I'd be miffed about wasting nearly a month's road tax!

As above. I would instruct the dealer to wait and that you want it on a 65 plate. Why lose money as come resale time it will be seen as a 15 plate car and priced accordingly. Regardless that it was a few days before plate changeover.

Mine got delivered 18th of August and without question I am waiting until
1st.

Just as an interesting question, what date would your cut off be where you would wait for the new plate. Would it be 1st of August i.e. If the car delivery were to be 31st July you would register it that day but 1st August you would wait.

I think for me it's July 1st....mind you that would be a long wait, especially as order would have probably been March for that delivery date!!

Leasing company we used would make us wait.

I do remember getting a car one time that was taxed for 12mths and a few days. Wish I'd taken a picture of the disc as even people in the trade have insisted that's not possible.

I've never heard of that - but that doens't mean you're wrong.

However I suspect you're thinking of MOT, which can run for 13 months?

My car is leased through Arval and came from Mercedes Benz of Newcastle - if I was buying the car I'd be more concerned about getting the new plate, but to be honest, I was given the choice of waiting till scheduled delivery time (end of September, or now) - but my Vauxhall Insignia is beginning to do my head in!

Arval are pretty relaxed (my outgoing W212 was from them), but very thorough and not penny pinchers!

Tax in the old days could be 13 months on a new car, don't think they do that now....
