Car starts breifly but won't run. All new wires, plugs, fuel filter, rotor and cap. I did all kinds of trouble shooting and here is where it stands. I can get this car to run if I put gas directly over the (air metering plate?), right down the big hole you know. Car fires up and runs well if I lightly press the accellerator pedal until the gas blows through, then it dies. So I figure I have a fuel flow problem as the car apparently does not have a spark problem. I learned how to jump the fuel pump relay, and get the pump to come on and stay on. This does not make the car start or continue to run with gas down the big hole. I checked out the throttle control switch and according to the olm meter per the Benz manual check out routine, it is ok. So, what is left? Thanks!!

Sounds like what happened to mine. Weak fuel pumps. One had stopped and the other couldnt cope alone. £250 to fit 2 new ones.

you can do that m8 but its the crank sensor that supplys power to the pump in the first place and the problem is with fuel pump power supply
