450 SL 1978 - Info wanted

Could anyone with any experience regarding the above model and year give me some advice on + and - points, what to look for when buying this model, purchase price for a good bad and ugly model, does it run on unleaded petrol, many improvements on later models etc Any advice and tips greatly appreciated
