Hi all, need some help here.
I have been offered a LHD M/B 500SEL in UK, this will be my introduction to benz cars.
Need to know when this model was changed to S500 and also how am I able to tell what yr of manufacture?
Anything else I need to know about this beast? :roll:

is an old 126 series 500 sel

is an early w140 s500 - note the not quite body colour bumpers.
also has parking 'aerials' not parking bleepers. 4 speed box (E/S switch on auto box, later has W/S)

later box

early ones (pre 1996) had issues with engine wiring looms disintergrating and air con failing (requiring entire dash out, and thousands of pounds to fix) - make sure yours isnt a friday afternoon special.

they are expensive to run!
