John,

All MB wheels have a stud pattern which is identical, you need to watch the offsets and wheel widths.

I believe every MB apart from the R129s and W126s have an offset of between 30 and 40 (usually 37 if memory serves), the SL's and certainly the SECs (Not sure about the SE or SEL from the W126 series) have an offset of 25.

This causes real problems replacing the wheels on the SL/SEC without spending a fortune.

The wheel specs (Width and offset) should be stamped onto the wheel. If these are similar to the W124 spec wheels (6.5J x 15 ET 37 again if memory serves) you should be OK.

Of course you could always try one on the car and see!

Offsets mean nothing on their own - you need to take in to account the wheel width as well.

All W126's require an offset of ET25 with a stock 7J wheel.

BUT, as soon as the wheel width becomes say 8.5J or 10J then ET25 will NOT work - it then needs to be ET 18.

So you must consider the offset together with the wheel width - never consider the offset ifgure in isolation.
