Anybody know if the headlamps on the 500E or E500,(124) are the same as other models in these ranges. I need to change a left hand drive unit for a UK version, any help would be appreciated. Car is a facelift 93 model If i can match the unit to a different car i.e. E320 then the units are available from people other than Mercedes and a lot cheaper.

Hi,

I think they would be the same. Thing to do is to go to your dealer. Check the part number with the number for your vehicle. Against a another vehicle of the same year. Say a E320 124. If the part numbers are the same. Hey presto. Nip down to your local German & Swedish (I know David will be reading this and will quote). With the relevant info. And save yourself pounds.

Bad news I'm afraid.

The 500E has different front end and headlamps.
Time to visit Nelson (as in main dealer)
